My first week of training went without a hitch- yes, I did have some issues as I thought I would with my weekend working/no gym/crappy weather drama. So Saturday was a no go but in reality, I probably should have a day of complete rest. The rest days that is written in the plan online I've put down as days to ride bike so I could get some cross training in. Anyways - but Sunday was perfect night- and I got 3.5 miles in without stopping which is amazing! I was pretty excited for myself... now had I could have done the same today I would have been more excited!
Yesterday I rode my bike the 11 miles after work and before the Bachelorette- yes, had to be done before the Bachelorette.. not missing it. Sorry! Nice weather, and went well!
Today on the other hand was bittersweet- I was so excited because I heard of the adult swim that our pool has from 12-1 30 before its open for everyone. So I thought how perfect I could swim some laps in the lane without crazy children swimming around. The swimming went well- I have no idea how many laps I did- I need to find a way to count that stuff. Omitting the fun swimming I did as a kid and all the swimming lessons I've taught/taken- I dont really know the real techs of the sport. I swam for an hour- and than decided to lay out a little bit on the chairs with some peace and I'm white as a ghost. It felt good at the time but when I got home I felt sick, maybe too much time in the sun? Maybe lack of food? I'm not sure but it wasn't pretty.
I felt better once I napped and ate
some food - so I figured I could go on the afternoon run that was planned. 3.5 miles again- so I waited til it had cooled off. While changing, I realized that my back has been burnt to all get out. I aloe vera'd that right up and continued to go for the run. I knew this wasn't going to be pretty but continued on. Ended up stopping 3 times, and I hadn't even gotten to 2 miles. I guess my sickness hasn't completely calmed itself... my breathing was off and my stomach was turning. My burn was stinging with sweat.. I called it off and walked to my car - that was my run. So I didn't complete the given mileage but 2 miles is better than no miles.
Lesson learned- no crazy burn swimming spending 3 hours outside in the sun crap before a run. Or at least be sunscreened up to the max and correctly nourished.
For the rest of the week--
Wednesday- 2 mile run ( yes, I may switch this up and do my 3.5 here being I did 2 yesterday but we'll see how I feel in the morning )
Thursday- 60 minute bike ride ( I may do the swim here - I'm not sure yet with that either. )
Friday- 3.5 mile run
Saturday - 2 mile run
Sunday - 3.75 mile run
Hopefully it all goes well, today 's crazy feeling like crap put me in a funk.
